Following her tumultuous legal battle with actor Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has been residing in Spain to recuperate. It seems that she has discovered a secure environment away from the United States. Currently, Heard is in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, accompanied by her one-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard. They are staying with Bianca Butti, a Hollywood writer, producer, and cinematographer, who also enjoys living in Spain, distanced from the pressures of the U.S.
Since Depp triumphed in the defamation lawsuit several months ago, he has traveled extensively around the globe. In contrast, Heard has chosen to remain in seclusion with her friend in Spain, deliberately avoiding the public eye as she prioritizes her daughter and seeks to live independently from Depp’s significant influence.
At present, Heard is facing financial difficulties due to the verdict that favored Depp. She is required to pay $8.3 million; however, she is appealing the decision in hopes of having the amount reduced or entirely dismissed.
Heard’s chances of evading the $58.3 million penalty for losing the defamation case against Johnny Depp appear slim. One judge has already rejected her appeal request. Heard had sought to declare the trial a mistrial and to have the proceedings conducted again in a televised format, similar to the original trial.
On July 1, 2022, Heard submitted her motion to appeal, asserting that there were inconsistencies within the jury. Her legal team contended that the individuals summoned for jury duty differed significantly from those who actually served, which they argued warranted overturning the current verdict against her.
As Heard takes time to heal in Spain, she seems to be enjoying a quiet existence, relishing her time in the Mediterranean country while spending quality moments with her daughter, Oonagh Paige Heard.
